The goal of the House System at our CBSE school is to provide an opportunity for students and faculty to interact across grade levels. In doing so, the CBSE school community will benefit from positive peer pressure, increased school spirit, and healthy competition.
To empower children to overcome their fear and shyness in speaking English in front of others, we have implemented ELGA (English Language and General Awareness), a specialized platform aimed at enhancing communication and general knowledge levels. Every day, following lunch, we host ELGA sessions where students participate in various activities geared towards improving their confidence and fluency. One such activity is public speaking, where students are encouraged to take the stage and express themselves. Initially, this may be daunting for some, but with practice, students gradually develop the confidence to articulate their thoughts effectively. Additionally, students have the opportunity to showcase their skills during assembly sessions, addressing the entire school community. Another crucial aspect of ELGA is creative writing, which fosters cognitive development and encourages students to express their creativity. Moreover, we prioritize handwriting improvement, providing guidance from stroke to letter formation, ensuring clarity and consistency. Recognizing outstanding performance in attendance, discipline, classroom behavior, public speaking, creative writing, and handwriting, we acknowledge the best performer of the month in ELGA. Furthermore, we foster healthy competition through house-based points, culminating in the awarding of the ELGA Cup to the highest-scoring house. Through ELGA, students not only enhance their skills but also become invaluable assets to the nation, equipped with confidence and proficiency in English communication.
